# Solve Points and lines

A point is a correct position or location on a plane surface. It is important to know that a point is not a thing, but a place. We indicate the spot of a point by placing a dot with a pencil. This dot may have a diameter of 0.2mm, but a point has no size. No matter how far you zoom in, it would still have no width.

point is a particular part on a plane. Usually drawn in the form of  dot.

Define Line:

The line is a continous points on a plane which has zero width. If you draw a line with a pencil, test with a microscope would show that it has a measurable width.The pencil line is just a way to illustrate the design on paper.

A straight line is the shortest space between any two points.

## Coordinates of a point(solve points and lines)

Definition: A straight line which relations two points without extending beyond them.

## Naming of line segments:

Solve the Line segments are commonly given in two ways:

• By solve the endpoints.
• By solve a single letter.
The segment above would be called simply "y". By get-together, this is usually a single lower case (small) letter.
This method is often used in the naming the side of triangles and other polygons.

## Define Line Segment (solve points and lines)

Line segment:

The line segment is a part of line that is segmented from the entire line, these line segment have all points lie on that line from which it is segmented.The finite length of lines is called line segment.

the line which has two or more points on a single plane is called coplanar.

Example for a line segment:

the line from x to y of length 10 cm. the segment from x to A of length 3 cm and the segment from B to y be 3 cm length, then find the length of the segment from A to B

solution:

Given the length of entine line is 10 cm

The line segments from x to A and from B toy is 3 cm each

Here we want to find the distance from A to b.

Subtract the sum of two segments from the entire length then the lenthe of AB can be find.

length of AB = length of xy - length of xA -length of By.

length of AB = length of xy - (length of xA + length of By).

length of AB = 10 - (3 + 3).

length of AB = 4.

Types of line segments:

1)   When two line segments intersect at an angle of 90 degree then both line segments are perpendicular.

2) When two lines on same plane which do not intersect and goes upto infinity such as the two rail road which moves parallel.

3) The lines that intersect two or more coplanar planes is callad traversal lines.
